The Magdala Mother
I
A monastic movement reimagining motherhood
The Magdala Mother is a prophetic call to reimagine motherhood through the lens of place, ritual, and the wild woman’s soul. The word “Magdala” comes from Mary Magdalene’s hometown. It means “fortress” or “tower” in Hebrew. In a milieu where Motherhood has been coopted by cultural demands rather than deep attunement to the soul’s needs, the Magdala Mother stands in her own fortress like sovereignty, outside those demands, with her feet rooted in the ground. It is from this place she reimagines Motherhood by listening to the deepest part of her inner knowing. She is wild. She is free. She is Mother.
Listening to the Land
The Magdala Mother is a movement deeply connected to the land and one’s connection to place through the practice of silence.
Reawakening the Wild Soul
The Magdala Mother is a movement committed to reimagining what it means to offer one’s whole erotic wild self, in service to God.
Practicing Sacred Ritual
The Magdala Mother is a movement reimagining sacred gatherings beyond the walls of institution.
Listen: Are you breathing just a little, and calling it a life?
